Odd question to ask now but I have given up hope of our ds ever joining anything. Anyone out there feel the same or is there still hope and if they don't join anything is it frowned upon at your dc's school?

Scouts (he's 14) and I'm hoping he will move up to Explorers soon and do DofE with them or with school in Year 10.

Team playing is all very well if you can manage it, but ds has a lazy eye and a vertical squint and thus has no depth of vision so all ball sports are very difficult for him. He likes kayaking and sailing which he does with scouts, and has found now he's more coordinated that he enjoys cycling and goes off for bike rides with dh, some father son bonding, which is great.
