We are looking to move to the Okehampton area and just looking for some feedback on Okehampton College in Okehampton and how academic the school is.

Ah ha! You are in luck, my sis teaches at a school in the Devon area and so I will see if she knows what Okehampton is like -she's very up on all these things!

Look at Okehampton's website and the latest Ofsted report is there. 1s and 2s, apart from one 3 for the sixth form.

I taught at a school in Cornwall that was not that far away, and Okehampton had a good reputation.

It is rural there though, but it looks as though the College lays on buses to enable students to participate in after school activities.

Be aware that Tavi College has just gone into special measures if you looking down that way.

If you look over the border into Cornwall, Launceston College is good as well. Okehampton has Waitrose though and Launceston has Tesco....

I've a friend whose DC went through Okehampton - she speaks very highly of it! Both children did end up at Exeter College for sixth form though as there was a better choice of subjects.
