Is it just state schools you're interested in?

Glyn is an all boys school based in Ewell, just down the road from Epsom. 87% of students leave with 5+ A* - C grades at GCSE level. They are quite a sporty school as well as having a focus on technology as they are a technology school. Competitive to get in and is a mixture of catchment and entrance test.

Epsom and Ewell is the otherside of Ewell, towards Chessington and Tolworth. It was recently in special measures after a shocking ofsted but new headteacher has turned it around, think it was recently reassessed as good but results aren't the greatest. It's a mixed school, on the edge of a council estate.

Blenheim is also a mixed school on the edge of a council estate but in contrast is a very new school with excellent facilities. About 65% of students left with 5+ A*-C grade GCSE's.

You also have Sutton Grammar that is a commutable distance and depending on what side of Epsom you are there is Therfield in Leatherhead and St Andrews is between Ashtead and Leatherhead. I don't know so much about them to be honest.

Also, private school wise you have Epsom College, City of Freemans and Ewell Castle all pretty close.

Thanks Ewe thats great. I had looked at the Ofsted for Epsom and Ewell and was really put off. Glyn sounds good. I am interested in Sutton Grammar but not sure if its too late for the exam as they have allocated now and they have no info about inyear admissions. I will call next week when school reopens.

I would imagine you might be too late for Sutton Grammar, the exam was last November I think and they have a HUGE waiting list! Worth a try though.

My little brother is starting at Glyn in September, he passed the exam for Sutton Grammar but is nowhere near top of waiting list! Glyn would definitely be my first choice out of the above schools.

Thanks again, I am interested in Glyn, I need to find out if they are full too. The local authority wont give me much information until I live ther which makes it difficult for me to be sure what I will get. Maybe I will try the schools directly.
