Have a 16 year old struggling with A level maths. Does anyone have a personal recommendation for an A level maths tutor in Liverpool? Many thanks

Have you contacted his maths teacher? If he/she doesn't do tutoring, they may know people who do.

At ds's school there's a maths club at lunchtimes for pupils who are struggling. The maths teacher and a few sixth formers run it, and it's free. Perhaps your school has something similar?

thank you, yes have tried both these routes.
School - don't have recommendations (grrr....!) and yes, they are planning maths clubs after Easter but the help needed is more intensive than that I fear! But thanks for suggestions.

Do any of his/her friends have tutors? If so, they may have spaces, or be able to recommend other tutors.

Or try the Universities. We have just found a tutor for DS who is a Maths Professor at our local uni.

sorry I am too far away to be of any help. Try local papers and boards in local shops. Put an advert in yourself if necessary.

Which part of Liverpool are you in? My mum and dad are both retired maths teachers and do some coaching. They are both very good .
