Thinking of forking out( well ,actually borrowing from mother ) for A level revision classes .
Justin Craig and Excel seem to offer these where we live in SE London.
Does anyone have any experience of either of these organisations ?

Just be careful if you are going to fork out all this money for Justin Craig. My son has been on the geography course and had a good tutor and found the course very helpful. However the maths tutor is hopeless; doesnt engage the students, doesn't have revision materials relevant to my son's exam board and when my son spoke to him twice about it just said they could work through some examples in my sons text book from college! They mix up students from different exam boards and say that doesnt matter, I think then they can book more students in, but on the maths course 5 of the 7 students were doing one board and my unfortuanate son was doing another, hence the work was not tailored to him.
I tried to complain to get him moved to another tutor for part of the three day course. It took half a day to get hold of anyone, ( up to 30 mins at a time holding on the phone), then I was told there would ony be 'redress' if all the students gave poor feedback forms. So an expensive waste of time, it is pot luck if you benefit and if you're not happy Justin Craig aren't going to do anything about it...

Hi - thanks for that .
Son is attending Justin Craig course as I type .
Third and last day of Chemistry AS ,of course I have no idea how it's going as son not v.communicative .
There are 6 students ,3 same examining body as son.
Replies dragged from son -" it's ok ,we're being taught ( as opposed to just reading ),it's harder than a class a school. The material is kinda relevant to us all. It's good to get it out of the way "
( so that I can play on line games when I get home )
He's doing Biology next .
Guess a lot does depend on individual tutor - it seems hard to find science teachers ,and I think that's why his school ,tho offering other Easter revision classes aren't running science stuff .
Son doesn't have particular friends ,but I'm hoping if nothing else we could build on this JC experience and that I might be able to encourage him to find some peers who would be willing to revise in a group at school.
Though if he still needs this much help with independent work ,what hope F or HE ?
