Help! has anyone used this company? My school has sent us information suggesting it could help support our 14 yr old, but it is a distance learning programme tailored to individual. Before I follow up and get their hard sell, I wanted to know if there was anyone out there with experience of them. I am notts area

There have a lot of threads started on here. Very expensive, you are tied into finance agreement for £1000s for basically work books and videos.
From what I can gather they pay the schools to send out the letter and for the filled out forms they receive back.
Much cheaper to get a tutor if your DC needs support.

No experience of using them, but lots of schools send out their leaflets, and it goes to all of the children, so please don't think that the school are in any way saying that they recommend it, or that your son would benefit from it. It's just an advert which the school gets money for sending out to all the families, not something which they have carefully thought through to recommend for your son in particular.

If you think your son needs some extra support, I would start by going into the school to speak to them directly and see what they can provide first of all, or what you could do yourself to help if they can't offer anything.

thanks, you have helped me affirm my instinct to avoid this route. I think it offers a business opportunity rather than valuable insight into my sons needs. I think he will achieve ok at school, but there are other thing in his life that are important to him too, his sport is hugely important. I don't think he will put effort into extra academic work, just avoid it! I am going to have a dialogue with the school as it looks as though they endorse it but the way they sent it out with a covering letter, and an instruction to reply to the school whether or not we are interested.
