Secondary School Application Mistake!

Can anyone tell me if I have a case to get my daughter into her school of choice if I put that school as preference 3 instead of preference 1 on the online application form??
I know - how can I have done that I hear you say - I have been asking myself the same for the last 5 hours, can anyone offer any advise?

Nope, sorry. Can you imagine the outrage? And in that case all parents would have to do is put the very popular school they have no hope of getting 3rd, then say "I meant to put it 1st", jumping the queue and getting the place.

Only if the school you eventually get offered is lower on your preferences than third...

You can go on the waiting list, or apply again, be refused and then appeal. I doubt you would have much chance on appeal though. There could be hope from the waiting list or even calling them to see if they are full.
