Waiting for that secondary school letter (1st march?)

Is anyone else waiting for that letter with bainted breath? I'm terrified DS won't get into his first choice and don't know what we'll do if he doesn't.

Harrycaitandtedsmummy - if we log onto the same site that we applied on, it says at the bottom, 'You have chosen to receive your offer by email / letter' depending on what you decided so you might be able to check...

When we were chosing a school for DD, we were told we weren't in any secondary school catchment area. Not that people get their catchment area school anyway!

I am waiting impatiently but do not know why. DH just been made redundent and who knows where we will be next Septemmber. I really wish I had not worried so much about it. just goes to show there never anything set in stones.

Still it would be nice if DD1 got that out of catchment selective one, just to boost morals up a bit

Here in Glos, they give the impression that emails are sent out throughout the morning - they warn you that there are a lot and it may take some time to do. Think all counties are differnet though.

We are not getting any emails. I did get a text message on Saturday morning teling me I could log on to the website to view the outcome of the application for Junior School. But by then I had already opened that morning's post and seen the letter offering dd a place.

Tomorrow is teh results day for secondary schools here. I will be at work (I work in a Junior School) so logging on will be hard (am in class with children virtually all the time) so will just read the letter when I get home.
Am starting to get nervous about it now though. Even though our nearest school is our first choice and we are slap bang in the catchment area...

I live in Herts and got the emails around 1pm even though they say they are sent after 2. If youy were notified by email then you found out before those who chose post.

I logged onto the secondary admissions system at 6am and the school allocation was available to view then.

The email has since arrived (8am)

It was good news for us. DS1 has got into the out of catchment faith school that we had put down as first choice

Ds1 is really happy.

I have DD and DSD both year 6 and both have got first choice places. DSD has special needs so we picked a high school that would be able to offer both girls what they needed and have got them both in. It is a school that used to have a really bad name but over the last few years under a new head has improved fantastically and is now greatly over subscribed every year.

Anyone in Sefton, if you log into the councils on line application system you can view the status, but as yet no emails sent out (well not to us anyway)I am sure with my other child we got email first thing in morning. Must have changed over the years!! Good luck everyone who is still waiting.

i logged on to the lea website, and have just found out the ds1 got our 3rd choice, which was the one i expected him to get. the first choice was the local grammar which i already knew he hadnt got into, and the second choice was a very good school but much further away than the one we got. its a very good school any way so i am not worried at all

Verity, September of Year 6 the forms come out and in most counties are required to be returned by mid October.

I was up at midnight too ! Couldnt sleep...

But although dd didnt make the grammar school we got our second choice which I actually preferred ..its a selective faith school... we are very relieved this morning as we really didnt have a plan b except for "appeal and pray " !!

Congrats to all that already know and have got what they wanted I have to wait for the postie tomorrow and I don;t think online applications can be accessed until tomorrow morning here. Kent and Birmingham have been able to access their results for a few days, so much for National Offer Day

I need help....Does anyine know how to log in on the Northamptonshire county council website to be able to view allocated place.

I have searched all over the schools admmisions section and cannot find anywhere to login to view my application.....We were told we could view from 10am but thought i would be able to login before hand. I am driving myself nuts here....Any help really appreciated
