Berkhamsted Boys

Our DS is due to sit entrance exams for Berkhamsted Boys Indie in January. We know that the assessments include English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning, but aren't sure what level they'll be looking for. We don't have any experience of this School at all, not knowing anybody that goes! Does anybody on the forum has any experience of this School please?

I would appreciate any help.

Sorry no experience myself but a friend's child recently joined there and sat the exam. I think they look at the common entrance exam scores - that is the one the local prep schools do in preparation.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.

Some of the girls at my DD's school are sitting for Berkhamsted Girls in January. (I assume it's pretty much the same exam if not the exact same). They had interviews last week. For the exam they don't seem to be doing a great deal of 'extra' preparation over and above normal curriculum stuff in English and Maths (verbal reasoning they will all have done up to their eyeballs as the school (ie DDs) is in Bucks and the Bucks County 11 plus is VR).

A girl from one DD's class has already moved to the (mixed) prep at Berkhamsted school and I hear good reports. Seems to be quite sporty (don't know whether that's your son's 'thing'..there again most boy's indies quite sporty).
