Has your DC had any really inspirational speakers at school? Or who would they like to visit?

DS (14) came home excited today because Ross Brawn is coming to talk, and if they want to see him they have to submit a good question in advance.

Who has got your kids excited at school?

They are both good.

It's great how one person actually taking time to visit the schools can really inspire them to think outside the normal career paths etc and realise what they could achieve if they try.

ds came home fizzing after an English lesson with Chris Bradford author of the Young Samurai books - apparently he did martial arts, chopping piles of bricks in half etc

Debra Veal (now Searle), Michael Morpurgo, and Will Randall have had my DC buzzing over the years!

Writers are popular aren't they.

DS has just been told he has a place at the Ross Brawn talk, great news.

Another time they got excited was when an ex-pupil landed an Apache Helicopter in the field to promote the Cadets that the school offers. (Beat the Air Ambulance that lands there regularly as the hospital is opposite.)

My daughter had Scary guy and Helice Bridges from the Blue ribbon foundation. Apparently she was a bit 'american' and 'cheesy' but I loved the blue ribbon I got (gulps back cheesy tears)

We always have very good speakers on prize giving day.

Daughter had to interview Jacqueline Wilson (a former pupil)when she came to her school a couple fo years ago. She is a total fan and was beside herself with excitement

DS had a number of people vist his school.

Adrian Hayes the explorer. All his adventures and disasters coupled with the environmental input and stunning photos made for an amazing talk.

Peter Murray author of the Mokee Joe books was good, he did great little drawings for all the kids.

Sally Gunnell was inspirational about her triumphs and the training.
