Start a new thread Franco, this thread is over 2 years old and people will just read the opening post and answer that.

Habs Boy/Girls (private) have a very good music department. Not quite village-ee but the surrounding area isn't heavily built up. Its about 20 minutes into St Pancras.

Harpenden has some good state schools in particular the faith school St George. About 30mins into St Pancras on a fast train. Once again, not heavily built up area.

St Albans itself is quite built up but there are little villages neighboring. Not good for state school catchment if you choose one of these villages but if you are going private then St Albans Boys and High School for Girls have bus services to/from these villages.

Dame Alice Owen has been mentioned. Top class music department and highly ranked academically.

Berkhamsted is nice and the Collegiate school (private) is pretty top notch but you'll have to pay ££££££
