Am cross posting from the Tiffin thread here in case someone can help. Does anyone know where I can see a Tiffin girls destination list please? I can't find on on the web - though am sure it must be there! TIA

jan - I'm only posting this because it's sad to see your thread languishing ... .

Don't know about the destination list BUT Tiffin Girls is always in the top 10 of state-schools-getting-pupils-into-Oxbridge. So that's one bit of leavers' destination info. But you probably knew that already.

Thanks CB! V kind of you. Am a bit surprised I can't find it easily - its not as if they would be hiding it in shame....??!!

One went to Oriel College Oxford this year ! Dh was reading his alumni mag last night and read this out as we are in Tiffin territory (although years away from the tiffin or not dilemma) . Mind you, someone also did go from my run of the mill state 6th form too.

as an ex-tiffin girl i think these kind of posts are EXACTLY the kind of thing that leads to the "emotional problems" that i've seen regularly referred to on this site.

tiffin girls' will suit your child if THEY want to go there. you have to love to learn and want to succeed when you're at the school, if you're scraping through work at the moment or needing to be encouraged you WON'T enjoy it at all! the pressure from parents about getting into tiffin is not worth it. there's so many girls who once they've got into the school are under such pressure to get the grades and uni places expected from a "tiffin girl" (and i can tell you now, they will be forever labelled as "A tiffin girl") that extra pressure from parents can just be too much.

without the school i wouldn't have got the results I did (7 A*s at GCSE and 4 As at A-Level) but I did NOT ENJOY my last two years at the school. choose carefully ~ exam results and leaver's destinations don't mean everything. if your CHILD wants to go into science/medicine (and i stress the 'IF YOUR CHILD WANTS TO') it's a great school, there's so much help in getting into university to study medicine. however if they're more interested in the arts, humanities or english i would go there for gcse's and look for another school to go for sixth form.

rant over
