If your child is doing well at school does the school put them in for Gse early or have them do AS level or iGCSE instead of standard GCSE? if so what do you think of it?

Lainey, What did she think of the Science AS and what course did she do? Was it straight science or 'Science in Society'/'Science for Public Understanding'? Do you know roughly what was covered over GCSE level?

There's so much more to science than just human biology that I wouldn't have thought there'd be too much overlap. If she'd been doing Physics+Chem+Biology this year there'd be a lot more of an issue.

DS's school (very high performing Grammar) does not enter them early, but instead likes them to have gone way beyond the GCSE standard so the exam will seem easy (and they have made a start towards the A level).

That way, more of them get the top grades.

They say the Maths GCSE should be like them re-sitting the Yr6 SAT paper in Yr 8 or 9!
