Mine's a 7 but growing. Is it boy or girl?

moopymoo · 09/08/2009 08:16

My 11 yr old is in an 8 - same size as me already! Am quite looking forward to borrowing some of his less smelly shoes converse once he is back at school. Are you a big foot too?

missile5 · 09/08/2009 10:14

It's a boy. My feet are not that big my dh is a size 10/11

DS1 is 9 and already a 4
He looks liek a golf club!

bruffin · 09/08/2009 14:46

My DS 13 is a size 10, DH is an 11 so he has nearly caught him up

shalom · 09/08/2009 19:57

my dd is a size 5 and she has just turned 9. She alway has here eyes on her Grandmas shoes when we go visiting

OrmIrian · 09/08/2009 19:58

So does mine. He has now overtaken me and is as big as his dad.

OrmIrian · 09/08/2009 19:59

I am now wearing his offcast converse.

nutiella · 29/08/2009 17:17

DD (13) had size 8 1/2 feet- school starts in one week and we still haven't found any school shoes (black and flat)! Does anyone have any good suggestions where to look?

allthatglisters · 29/08/2009 19:42

My DD says Faith go up to size 9, and possibly Scuh (spelling?)- though I don't think they do half sizes.

Tortington · 29/08/2009 19:44

dd (16) size 9

shoes are a problem thats for sure

i told her if she grows any more she will have to shopin the tranny shops in brighton for shoes

weegiemum · 29/08/2009 19:48

I was a size 7 when I started secondary school (11), an 8 in 2nd year and am now a 10, and have been for years.

I buy men shoes if I want 'black and flat' and trainers, and boots!

Evans is pretty good and has just started a "not wide" section - its where I have got most of my shoes since Saxone "Tall and Small" evaporated!

Big feet are a bit of a curse though. I do tend to live in my crocs (who do up to ladies size 11 so I love them!)

To a certian extent it runs in the family I think. My brother is a 12/13. Dd1 is 9 and a 4. Ds is 7 and a 2.

I am, though, the only woman I know with bigger feet than her dh!

weegiemum · 29/08/2009 19:50

Its a long way from Glasgow to the tranny shops in Brighton, but sounds liek it might be worth the trip!

blametheparents · 29/08/2009 19:55

Next do some of their ladies' shoes up to a size 9 that you could order from the Directory.

chegirl · 29/08/2009 20:02

I feel your pain. My DS1 is 15 and is a size 12. Mens shoes come in bigger sizes though so easier for me, just bloody expensive.

deaddei · 31/08/2009 11:54

weegiemum- I too have bigger feet than dh. His are short and fat size 7- mine are long and slim and size 9. I also have longer legs, which pisses him off no end.
A boy in ds's class is size 9 and he is 10.
It's a real pain finding gorgeous well priced shoes in large sizes- dd (12) is size 7 so she will no doubt have huge feet too.

nutiella · 02/09/2009 22:35

thanks for all these suggestions: it's my DD who is size 8 1/2 and I have no shopping days left between now and school. Good tip if you do find a pair that fit: go home and order them online- much cheaper. But only worth doing if you know the right size (which I don't)!!!

kid · 08/09/2009 21:08

My DD is on the opposite end of all these large feet!
She is 10 and has just gone into a size 13 (tiny feet)

PommePoire · 21/09/2009 22:00

For your DDs I would really recommend this company www.myinnersole.com/ Run by a lady who has larger feet herself and has had girls' shoes specially designed and made for larger feet. As far as I know this is the only company that has every part of the shoe properly made from scratch for larger feet. i.e. not just average sized shoes 'sized up' which means lengthening the sole but not scaling up the other dimensions of the top part of the shoe to match. This is very much a 'you get what you pay for product', more than most high street options but worth it for the quality. Sorry for long post but my life changed the day I found these shoes so I'm on a mission! The same people do womens' shoes here: www.amberandjade.com/ Sorry no help to those of you with larger footed DSs that this isn't option for them.
