Hi, could any art teachers please advise me? My DS has to write a few sentences describing the works of William Morris. He can find lots of biographical sites but none that he said actually help him to describe the works. Obviously some of the descriptionj will be his own interpretation, but are there any sites where he could get more inspiration about the pieces themselves? THANK YOU>

Lots of flowers IIRC. Stuff like this www.victoriana.com/Wallpaper/williammorris.php, lots and lots of wallpaper with flowers.

Ask him to observe the examples deeply and then ask the following questions:

How do they look?

What do they look alike to?

What does he think the author was trying to do by drawing in such way?

Do they make him remember about something else?

And finally, does he like them?

Now put the answers in sentences and you have a description?
