Apart from taking his A2s. Next year DS2 is on a gap year, then will be going on to university. I wonder whether I should have taken a photo to go with the "First Day at School" photo?

I think that it is a really good idea to take a photo

I dread this day coming. I am that my DC will both be in senior school next year. How did they get so big and independent so quickly?

my eldest does her gcse's next year....work experience after half term, all gone so quick!

went past or upper school earlier, its also a sixth form college. someone was playing practical jokes as a little gold fiesta was perched on top of the little hill they have, where they have picnics etc...then on way back the little car had just been moved behind a tree at the end of school grounds! made me laugh!

My DS1 left last friday and I took a picture of her in the morning to compare with the one of her starting in reception (all chubby cheeks and her uniform too big). Managed to get through the day without anything terrible happening - not too much drunkness and the pranks didn't get out of hand

Oh sob!!!

DS#1 has only just started secondary but the memories of last year are still fresh. When he left his safe little primary school. DD will be doing that next year. And then only one left. And knowing how time flies it will be over all too soon.

Lilymaid · 22/05/2009 14:09

Sob ... and he is going to the college prom tonight and there will be girls after him because he is a handsome hunk! (Come to think of it, there were girls after him when he was in reception, plus ca change!)

tis quite a momentous thing ,the last day of school

all the yr 13's were in fancy dress today then a pub crawl.

can't believe dd will be doing the same next yr

they grow up too fast

bigchris · 22/05/2009 15:44

has he come home yet with signatures all over his shirt?!!
I used to live near a secondary school
every last day of the sch year the nearby playing field was strewn with torn up school books , lol

tattycoram · 22/05/2009 15:44

Oh god my DS is only two but I can't bear the thought of him growing up. Pre-DC I would snort with derision at women like me.

Milliways · 22/05/2009 16:37

DD leaves today - is presently at the pub with the teachers

She gets her yearbook today as well - so that is a good keepsake.

I think they will have taken loads of photos! Next one will be for the "final prom".

its a big milestone isn't it. My DS finished school a few weeks ago, currently on study leave/doing GCSEs and I wish I'd thought of taking photos.
On the last day he came home with signatures all over his shirt and face . The big shock was that I'd totally forgotten it was his last day. What a terrible mum I am but in my defence, DCs 3 & 4 were keeping me busy

I just mentioned to him about photos and he said he had loads taken on his last day so will have to pinch a few for my photo album
