Have just set them a project to round of the course looking at the debate/conflict/ discussion between religion and science.

I may not feel the same when I am having to mark them all in one night but it is so interesting.

well to me anyway

{winces involuntarily at Twinset's spelling}

sorry!

{returns to Pedant's corner}

SuziSeis · 28/04/2009 23:46

ouch

twinsetandpearls · 28/04/2009 23:56

sorry do you know I have done that about 3 times today! Thanfully not in front of a class but when I have been typing.

I have smacked my wrists and I will write our their, there, their, there 100 times.

I think I am entitled to an error at this time of night having been working for 18 hours today.

It's ok, we forgive you and you get full marks for enthusiasm!

SuziSeis · 28/04/2009 23:59

lol

i do 'get' you though

ds 1 as RS is fabulous and i would love it

ditto the critical thinking

My problem is that I come on here and type at great speed ( when I cant type) post realy quick read a few posts and then go back to work.

I found myself doing the same today answering emails at work. Taking a break from marking and whizzing through. When I read through what I had posted ( after I had pressed send sadly) I was mortified.

happens to the best of us!

twinsetandpearls · 29/04/2009 00:05

It happens to me all the time though. Every now and again I do think as I am typing on here those bloody pedants are lurking and they love nothing better than a teacher's scalp. But it never lasts.

Oh well back to the grindstone.

My DS had a similar project to this in Yr 8 (more towards the Creation/Evolution arguments) and has had loads of really intersting projects at his school. He loves it! Really enjoys the debates in class.

TrillianAstra · 29/04/2009 17:29

Sorry, I was also very judgey-judgey at 'there' from someone who teaches an AS class.

YANBU (I know it's not there) it is an interesting topic.

There/their and don't forget they're

twinsetandpearls · 29/04/2009 17:56

No worries Trillian Astra tbh it is a rather crap thing to get wrong especially when you teach an a level class.

We do a similar project in year 8 as well and they enjoy it.
