Help please... any R.E. teachers out there?!

Hi, could any RE teachers help me, please? My DD has to make a model of a church for her year 7 project and has been told that it can be no bigger than the size of an average shoe box... presumably the height doesn't mattter as much? e.g. the tower is quite tall and my DD (being the worrier that she is) is fretting that it will be too big overall, but I am assuming it's just the size of the base that counts? Sorry, know it seems a bit trivial, but she worries so and any advice would be GREATLY received. Thanks.

I don't teach RE but I do teach. It wouldn't look right if its spire/tower was small enough to fit inside a shoebox - the teacher probably just said to discourage monster churches. If she's really worried perhaps a detachable tower/spire so that she could fit it into a shoebox if required to then she can whip it out and stick it on once at school ?

I teach RE and this sounds like a project inspired by History Dept building castles every year.

My students don't build Churches, but yogabird's ideas sound very good and what I would have suggested.

Besides not all Churches have spires/towers
