Bit of a bombshell -DS1 can't do the options he chose

Only 3 children in his year can't do the options they chose and he is one of them Unfortunately it turns out there is only one GCSE group for each of Music and spanish and they clash !
So very difficult choice- he hates all the humanities type things ,so it looks as if by a process of elimination it will have to be German although he has only done 3 weeks of it so far so hasn't got an idea of whether he likes it or not.

Argue ! My "choices" were similarly limited but somehow we adapted the timetable so I could do Art with the year below but still follow the syllabus.

I agree, your first step should definitely be to write a letter and explain how important it is for him, and they may be able to sort out something flexible for him.

Thanks for your replies.
But as a back-up he is wondering about doing astronomy . Is that a 'solid' subject or a soft one ?

Can the school offer one of them, eg Spanish as a twilight subject ie during lunch hour and/or after school.

Dunno about astronomy but German is a great subject to do.....
