GCSE Art question

Dd came home from school yesterday, (she is in year 8,) and said that the teacher is recommending she starts her GCSE Art this June.

I was quite surprised at this, though I realise dd is quite arty. Does anyone know quite what this involves? I have looked at the AQA website until I am cross-eyed, but I still can't work out what she will have to do.

All dd said was that there will be an after-school session starting soon with regards to the qualification.

I was just wondering if any of you wise ones know anything about this exam.

Does it say anything on her school website? I know on my DD's school website it gives a brief outline of what is expected if not could you ring the school?

Marmaduke - sounds interesting! Dd came home today and said that her form teacher (who is also one of the art teachers) is going to let me know a bit more about it very soon. Probably next week. From what you have said, I think she would find it very interesting.
