Yes.
a) Review learning plans. Also chase coursework for GCSE/Alevel. Liaise with parents sometimes.
b) Technically, although most of their work is targetted.
c) Depends on student and issues.

LMs are the names for tutors at our school

The learning mentors at the school I work at do a great job, but very different to what other people describe. They are more pastrol support workers.

a) The learning mentors man the inclusion room.
b) They remove naughty kids and discuss their behaviour with them.
c) They help kids who are being bullied to learn to be more assertive and learn strageries for combatting bullying.
d) They are a general councelling service.

It frees up the teachers to spend more time teaching and allows children the time they need to discuss emotional issues that get in the way of learning.

I wish my son's primary school had them.

There's such a variety of different jobs in different schools that seem to have been given this job title! It's very confusing, isn't it?
