Any informed views out there about Colet Court/St Paul's - is transfer from Colet Court to St Paul's truly automatic at 12

According to the head of CC it's 'guaranteed' for 11+ entrants - they won't offer a place to a child who is not St Paul's material (I understand most, if not all, 13+ entrance schools now do a pre-test at 11 anyway). There are occasionally some children who start at 7 or 8 who don't develop academically or behaviourally as hoped (I'm paraphrasing) and who don't make it. Last year apparently the entire cohort went on to St Paul's apart from those who chose to leave and they expect the same to happen this year.

In practice, I don't know!

2 boys from colet court are at my sons school after not getting into St Pauls. This would have been entry for 2005/6 academic year. I don't believe they were told ahead of time that this might happen. I think there were a couple of years when St Pauls were accepting an awful lot of pre-test boys at 11 who didn't get in at CE 13+ and this may have affected Colet Court entry.
