Repton School

Does anyone have any info, good or bad, about Repton School?

I have no personal experience but I have a friend whose DD1 is there at the moment. Her DS left last year. She lives reasonably local to the school but both her kids boarded. They seem(ed) to love it and her and her DH are certainly happy with it. Her DS is particularly shy and I think they always found it very nurturing. He got very good Alevels and her DD seems to be doing very well too though I've never really talked to her about the ins and outs of the academic curriculum so couldn't comment on that.

Just to add, I think it's about 8k per term so one would assume the curriculum is fairly loaded and of an excellent quality.

Roald Dahl went there and hated it, many years ago. That's the only thing I know about it!

My cousin went there and got on very well.

my brothers went there and hated it. having to fag for jeremy clarkson probably didn;t help.

all a long time ago. I had an arty rebellious brother and a slightly sqaure one - neither fitted in with the then predominant sporty posh feel - but we are talking 25-odd years ago - so probably totally irrelevant!

Football everyday apparently....sounds quite daunting personally!

My brother went there 25 years ago, and still has the drug problem to show for it. Lots of A levels, but never held a job for more than a few weeks. Worst years of his life he says, and considering what he's done since that's saying something. However, things change, but check out the drugs question.
