Do you clean the inside of boot bags?

I just helped ds1 give his football boots a thorough clean for half term.

Then when I realised his boot bag was (obviously) also filthy and muddy I gave that a good scrub too.

dh came in and clearly thinks I'm clinically insane.

What do you reckon?

Personally, no.

Games kit is completely maintained by the owners. I have nothing to do with any of it, beyond the initial buying.

The boot bag will be dirty again after the next games session.

Here boots go in a carrier bag inside boot bag. When the mud dries in the carrier bag turn inside out and shake out mud and then reuse.

Or - leave everything to do with football to dh

DD's PE trainers are normally to be found wrapped up in her PE top so no mud on the bag here!

ds1 loathes PE - it's the only negative he's come up with about his new school.

Do they tend to stick with the more traditional sporting things Roisin? At DD's school they do the team games one lesson a week then for the others they do the fitness suite, trampolining, orinteering etc plus in the summer they'll do field events. DD is pretty sporty loves her football but thinks the best thing about PE is when they do the fitness suite probably because it's indoors!

They do a wider variety further up the school: we are close to the Lake District and I know they do some sailing, hiking, and so on at some stage.

But at the moment it seems very traditional - psychotic PE teachers screaming and shouting at them that if they are not completely ready in two minutes flat they will have to go out as they are: in underwear and bare feet if necessary! This was the first day and ds1 and others were clearly petrified.

I mean it's really not necessary is it? ds1 is a nice kid and has always tried his best at a subject he isn't particularly talented in and doesn't find easy. At primary school he was even enthusiastic about PE at times. He's not now.

I had PE teachers like that! DD's PE teachers seem to be less tyranical thankfully.
