Those new diplomas that the Government hope will replace A levels etc

I don't know if there's a thread on this already so I thought I'd start one.

What do you all think?

It occurs to me that DD2 starts senior school next year so may miss them altogether but the DTs are just starting Reception tomorrow and so these diplomas may be in full swing by the time they start secondary school.

I don't think that they are what I want my children doing and so I don't think that they should replace (if they do) the A levels etc.

Thoughts please.

I don't believe the intention is that they replace A'levels altogether (see here - rather an alternative combining academic study and more industry-ready skills/vocational skills than traditional A'levels. I think traditional A'levels will still be offered???
