St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School Finchley – Parent Experiences

Hi everyone,
We’re considering St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School for our daughter next September and would really appreciate some honest feedback from current parents, particularly those with daughters in Years 7–9.
I’m especially interested in pastoral care, discipline, communication with parents and whether the girls are generally happy and settled.
Would love to hear both positive and negative experiences.
Many thanks!

Hi there, DD went to St Michael's and stayed on for A Levels. She was very happy there. As ever there were some teachers who were better than others but many long serving. She left 3 years ago. Very few girls leave to go elsewhere for their A Levels. No disruption in lessons to contend with. In terms of pastoral care, DD didn't have much need but there were always teachers they felt they could talk to. A very positive experience for her.

My daughter has just started in y7 and loves it so far. Teachers seem nice, she's enjoying the work and the extra curricular stuff. Some of the girls come from miles away so there are less local friends. And the communication from the school hasn't been great. But other than that, very happy so far.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. That’s interesting about the communication part as we’ve also heard similar feedback so worth investigating. I’m so glad your daughter loves it and long may it continue 😊
