Looking at these three schools for my child who has high functioning ADHD/autism/Irlen’s Syndrome. Can anyone tell me what the SEN support is like? I’ve read mixed reviews and not sure what to think. Would be for Year 7 entry. TIA

I would recommend speaking directly with each school's SENCO to understand the support available and how effectively individual needs are accommodated.

I know the schools, but my children went elsewhere. Anecdotally I have head Luckley House is v nurturing and think Holme Grange is too. Know less about Sherfield. All are mainstream though and have relatively low numbers of children with EHCPs (assuming your child may have one with Irlen Syndrome)

Contacting the SENCo is good advice, Equally, If you are considering schools in Hampshire you could try asking if they have support from the Specialist Teacher Advisor service for Visual impairment. Although I think they only work with state schools

Thanks. I have spoken to the Sencos at all the schools, but was hoping for any inside info from parents who have personal experiences with the schools. I am well aware that what the Sencos say and what they actually do, might not match up. I’m already concerned about lack of communication between Senco and the rest of the school from something that happened at a taster day at one of these schools. I also get the feeling that because many private schools have declining numbers due to VAT etc, that they will just say the right thing to me in order to get a bum on a seat.
