Hi,
My DS is in year 8, need suggestion on what books to refer to make his study notes. Currently following CGP KS3 book and following BBC bite size, should this be good enough ? His boards are AQA for sciences and Maths, not sure if this should give enough understanding around the topic or should he be exploring other options. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Will this books be enough for GCSCE’s ? As he will be in year 9 and will start preparing next year.

Thanks,
Mum

My dd found she didn’t need anything more than BBC bitesize and the various online tools provided by her school. Does your child’s school provide access to apps like Seneca and MyMaths?

For gcse you can buy study and revision guides for your dc’s exam board - Vinted is a good source of second hand materials, as it’s quite likely your dc won’t use them much it isn’t worth spending a fortune.

Why do you need to be thinking about GCSE study options in Year 8? The work he is doing in school and homework will be plenty to prepare him for GCSEs for now!

We are wjec and at the start of year 10, one of the science teachers suggested getting the GCP book and it has been well used.
A few different subject teachers have suggested bitesize too.

For GCSE you will need the GCSE guide for the right board and tier (foundation/higher) where relevant.
