I'm seeking some advice from any parents who have a child here.
First, is it really as good as it sounds?
Second, has anyone had a child successfully apply for a music place.
I know the school results are excellent but is it worth applying for a music place if your DC does this outside of school but also has other interests?
I went to the open day this week and one of the scholars said they have to attend lots of music clubs so they don't have time for other clubs or sports. Music must always come first and you must do GCSE. As you also have to do RS GCSE that's 2 options taken, so also missing out on trying other clubs would be a real shame.
My DC is quite advanced at music but I'm not sure, at aged 10, they know if they would definitely want to do GCSE music at 14.
Any insight into how intense (or not) the school is would be appreciated.
