Chesham Grammar or Aylesbury High?

Any experiences of choosing between the two? What tipped it? We are more likely to get a place at CGS but interested in the single sex potential of Aylesbury.

If you're more likely to get CGS I'd still try and look round both. Mixed vs girls is one of those things that doesn't show up clearly in the numbers, some girls love the single-sex vibe and others are fine either way. For a lot of families it's the daily trek and how the place feels when you visit that actually tips it.

Also worth a look at how far offers went last year for each, so you're not hanging everything on AHS if the distances were short. Happy to point you at where to compare the two on the published side (offers, Ofsted, results) if useful.

Thank you. If you could share the comparison information that would be great.

No worries! Full disclosure, I'm developing a free school comparison site for the South East, schoolcompass.uk, and it lines CGS and AHS up side by side on the published stuff (Ofsted, results, admissions). Not a ranking, just the same numbers in one place. For last year's offers, Bucks council publish their allocation info on their website too, worth checking against your address. Good luck with it!
