And another GCSE re-mark question: eng lit

DS was predicted a 6 but got a 4. I’ve only just gone through the scores and he’s 2 marks from a 5. It doesn’t make any difference to next steps. He got a 7 in eng language so he has a good English grade in the bag for future job applications etc. But, if only 2 off would be silly not to go for a review? I’m paranoid that it could go down to a 3, however that would mean losing 13 marks which seems a bit unlikely.
What would others do?

A review doesn't look for extra marks.

You need someone who knows what they're doing to look at the papers to see if the marks seem unreasonable, and then make an informed decision.

The other option is to just pay and see what happens.

It’s very unlikely to go down by 13 marks so the only thing you have to lose is money. Can you get the script first and ask his English teach to look it over? If you have the money, I’d spend it on that. We’re having two exam reviewed where my son was only 1 mark off the next grade.
