Woodhouse waiting list

Has anyone heard if their DC has a place on the waiting list? DS didn't get a place initially as his school only provided mock grades instead of predicted but got 2 x 7s and the rest 8s and 9s in his GCSE. Not sure if that's enough for Woodhouse or how they allocate places. Is it just best results or does distance come into it? We have confirmation that he has met their entry criteria but not if he has a place. He is not that bothered about going and has other places but we would like to know if he has a place there before making a final decision.

It sounds like the grades are easily high enough but may depend on what subjects they want to do and how over subscribed each is. My DD had a place there but turned it down a couple of weeks ago as we decided it was too far away - we're in East London and it is a trek to get to. So don't think it can be purely on distance as we're an hour away, she did have strong predictions.

I haven't heard from anyone who had a waiting list place. Most of her friends are staying where they are or going to the LAEs/La Swap which have already been confirmed. Good luck.

Mine was wait listed and has 3x9 3x9 and 3x7 I’ve had 2 missed calls from them today last one about 545. I am so cross I now have to wait until tomorrow to find out what they want. DC is in 2 minds. They have an offer at another great 6th form but with a prefered subject they don’t offer at Woodhouse. Don’t know what we will do if they offer

We have had an offer today but had to flex on choices. We weren’t offered economics but were offered an alternative. I’m going to assume that they offered economics to people with 8 or 9 in maths, DC only had a 7.

Interesting, thank you. What were your DC's preferred subjects? DS chose Maths, Economics and History but sounds like Economics is very competitive and I heard the same about Maths.
