Does anyone have any recent experience of Weydon? Especially for a sporty child. I know it has a great reputation and results are good. Trying to work out if private school would add significant value or whether the sporting provision at weydon is of a high enough standard. Thanks!

How high a standard are you looking for and for a specific sport, or in general?

When you say sporty, do you mean academy level at sport or just generally enjoys it?

I wouldn’t say the academy trust focuses on sport, some facilities are good/ok but not private school level.

So very talented at sport, high level in two sports in particular. Has lots of coaching outside of school but want them to also have good sport in school, to keep their general athletic development going. That is interesting you say it doesn't focus on sport, do you mean they don't spend much time doing it, coaching isn't good or..? Thanks.

I have DC at another school in the WMAT who both are also talented at sports - academy football, county teams etc.
They do sports regularly within school - but I’d say the schools benefit from having plenty of students who are good at sport due to outside interests rather than improving within school. They do the required levels for KS3, and some after school clubs for fun. Not loads of school matches compared to private school friends.

Thanks @fiorentina that is very helpful. Someone told me they can only play school matches for one sport I.e. they couldn't do netball and football, do you know if that is true? Thanks for taking the time to reply.

That’s definitely not true where we are. They are on nearly every team and play for both girls/boys teams for some sports.
