Online platforms to support GCSE preps?

Hoping for insights on online platforms to support with GCSE prep. I have a son moving to Y10 in September who is highly capable but does absolute minimum homework - or less. I need to address motivational issues myself. But I have reasons to believe that a platform that supports with organisation and progress tracking would be greatly beneficial in this case. I have little time to draw schedules and supervise work myself unfortunately.

I've done some research but am getting lost with all the options out there. Platform capabilities I'm looking for:

• Adaptive learning plan. It seems this rules out Seneca? Atom Learning seems to fit the bill here but the GCSE offering is relatively new - anyone has any experience?

• Allow the parent to easily track progress.

• Triple Science (so Ulearn not an option) and other core topics.

• Revision and practice to complement school, with high-quality material.

• Suitable for prep starting in Y10.

Cognito doesn't tick all my boxes but is it worth it as a complementary platform for STEM resources?

Nothing like what you’re asked for but in practice I’ve found physics and maths tutor good for past papers- can select by exam board. I just print them out, make him do them and then mark them/ we go through them.

Problem with the adaptive ones is that they test knowledge ok but not exam technique. Often they know the answer if it’s multi choice but not when they have to articulate it themselves - they lose marks by not using the exact terminology or only putting one point for a 2 mark question etc. Honestly I sympathise ( DS has a similar approach to yours) but I think the investment in pen to paper is worth it. Apart from anything else DS needs to practice writing so someone can read it!!

Yes, a good starting point. We have asked. My son knows where to find resources, both online and paper. He tells us he does what he's expected to do and then we find out he didn't!

Fair point. The reason I'm interested in Atom is because they say it supports with exam techniques, not just knowledge. For essays and open answers, marking, feedback and support are done by AI. So obviously won't be as nuanced and effective as a human, but I'm hoping it could work as a complement to the work done at school. I've tested it with the free version but would love to hear feedback based on actual long-term use by students.
