Bloxham vs Cokethorpe?
Thoughts please on…Cokethorpe complete mixed reports on happiness dependent on cohort. Lacking sporting opportunities due to Outdoor Ed option lowering already small numbers, Weds fixtures and Head of Games focus on boys rugby.
Bloxham academic results not published - is it just for low ability children who need nurturing? Sporting opportunities for able all rounders boys and girls? Bus routes/ length of day? Facilities seem more impressive all round than Cokethorpe are the opportunities greater.
Bursary places at either.

I don't know anything about Cokethorpe but Bloxham is definitely not for low ability children only. I think historically that was it's strength but it is becoming increasingly popular with a good mix of academic levels and lots of opportunities. I know people planning to send their DC there and had friends go there a long time ago. It certainly seems to shaking it's old image and going from strength to strength.I think it is now seen as a great all rounder school.

Mine loved Cokethorpe, the pastoral care was very good. Now Damien has retired there may be a different focus. I don't know.
Sport was brilliant but mine was a rugby player.
Academically, pretty good. They did well for mine, better than expected.

I think Bloxham caters for more low/low average ability?? Cokethorpe has upped its game in last few years with excellent results at gcse and A level, also a good choice for sporty kids and those who aren’t (outdoor education program seems solid). Selective though so be prepared to sit entrance exams!
