Shirts&ties or polos?

3 of our 4 kids (DS 14 & 13 and DS 12) are starting at a new high school in september. Uniform is either shirt/tie/sweatshirt or polo shirt and sweatshirt. Which is the better option?

They're old enough to decide themselves.

Polo is probably more comfortable and what most of the kids will wear. I’d just ask the kids though what they would prefer and go with that.

@AdamCheshire you never did explain on your other thread why your Year 11 and his leavers hoodie are still attending school despite school having finished for Year 11s.

He's not finished for another couple of weeks, two sports days and several days of mentoring year 9 and 10s. You're right though, there's no scheduled lessons.

That's very unusual.
He is no longer of compulsory school age so if he's that bothered about the hoodie he doesn't have to go and there's nothing the school can do.

I’d suggest hanging around outside the school if you can at drop off or pick up and seeing what the pupils actually wear. I imagine there will be an informal rule which everyone follows. Failing that, someone in the school office might be able to tell you if you give them a call

Who on earth would choose a shirt and tie over a polo???
