School incident logs showing different dates after later edits

Received SAR from school and found on some logs the dates differ for example - incident reported April 2024, entered onto system June 2024. I've asked school to explain, they've said the system they use allows them to edit entries and when they save it shows the most recent date with no record that it's been edited making it look like the entry has been backdated or there's a delay in putting the notes on, have you heard of this before? I'm scratching my head on this one.

Yes, they redact info that’s not about your child if you want to see it. There could well be a delay in entering data and subsequent updates. So if there was a fight between ButterflyDC and CaterpillarDC, Caterpillars name will be redacted. Why do you think data entry dates matter?

Thanks for your reply, totally understand redacting other students names for privacy reasons, I mean the dates changing on the reports, like if a situation happened on one day and it was entered onto a system but it shows a teacher put it onto a system on another day (I'm not sure if I'm making any sense). I asked why it would show two different dates suggesting the incident was not logged at the time it happened. School said they can "edit" the event and any edits will save on the current day that its been edited but there is nothing to say it was edited. Just want to know if softwares allow this

They just mean that it is the date of the most recent edit, not the date the incident was first recorded.
