Hello, we were deciding whether to let our child go to either Henrietta Barnet or NLCS or Highgate. So any opinions on schools would be much appreciated.

It depends on what you're looking for. Why do you want to move DD from Highgate? And you say "let" your child go to HBS or NLCS - has she been offered a place at either school? What year is DD in?
Also HBS is free whereas Highgate and NLCS will cost approx 30k pa+ . So that might affect your decision.
Anyway, for a really academic girl, HBS would be my choice. You'd be very lucky to get her in there if she's already in senior school.

She's got an offer from both schools and she's in yr 9 right now. The budget doesn't matter that much to us. The only thing is she's never been in an all girls environment. We were planning to move as she feels it would better for her to work in an all girls environment but she's just worried about the pressure those school may have as they are quite academic schools

though another thing holding her back from moving is her friendships

If she wanted all-girl environment and budget doesn’t matter - NLCS is an obvious choice. Amazing school. She passed the entrance exams which means she will cope well academically.

If money doesnt matter nlcs most probably.

Tactically some unis prefer state schools so depending on uni aspirations potentially henrietta Barnet.

hi my dd is at NLCS, (with offers from both highgate + henrietta at 11+ level) and she absolutely adores it there. i have a friend whose dd goes to henrietta but she doesn't really like it due to no facilities/sports/music and the pressure is immense; she will be applying to nlcs for sixth form. a common misconception is that all girls school are very clique-y, which is true to an extent, but thats the case in every school- people have their own friend groups, which at first is based on the clubs and societies they attend in year 7/8 but gradually (at least in my dds year group) everyone becomes quite amicable with each other (spare the few instances of typical drama!). shes in year 11 and she doesn't feel more pressure than any other child at another school would, your daughter passed the entrance test so she is definitely academically inclined! the school itself does its best to make sure everyone achieves their potential and there's mutual respect between teachers and students (so ive been told by her). sorry i can't spread much light on highgate! good luck with your decision!
