When do school holiday dates get released for 2027-2028?

When do school holiday dates get released?

Its a big birthday year for my husband next year, but instead of a big trip we are planning lots of 1 night or weekends away over the year as a family. I can only find the school holidays up to the summer for next year and no dates for 2027-2028. I can’t be the only one planning trips and I’m sure they are usually released further ahead. What am I missing?

Nobody can answer that. It depends entirely on the school. Ours was available from September last year.

Why didn’t I think of that! Seriously, of course I’ve tried that already.

As an academy, the school does not have to fully align with the council dates, inset days often differ unfortunately.

They are released in my area up to 2030 as well.

Obviously inset days will vary from school to school (that's the point really – they are for schools to arrange staff training as needed) but otherwise IME even academies will pretty much stick to the LA-published dates.

If you find you school varies a lot then yes contact the school surely?

I wouldn't expect the general school holidays for a few months yet, and we are years off getting the inset days - like id expect June 2027 for the inset days for 27-28.
