Waiting list for lower down preference

For various reasons we are now interested in our 5th choice school.
We were offered and accepted our 3rd choice.
We have gone on the waiting list for school 5 through their LA.
Do I also need to tell our LA as I have read a lower offer can be automatically blocked.
We have a really good chance of a place now I have seen furthest distance but I am freaking out it might have already been offered but blocked!

Have a look at what your LA says about changing your order pf preference after national offer day, be ause this is essentially what you are doing here.

I have emailed them. It didn't cross my mind that it would be automatically blocked even though we are on the waiting list. I really hope we haven't already had an offer blocked

Glad I emailed as we have now been offered the school and accepted (all on a Saturday too!)
