Grammar schools near Croydon

I have been living in South Croydon for 5+ yrs. While I pretty much love everything about the area, I also wonder if those families living in Sutton councils(or similar places with Grammar schools) have a better chance of success at 11+ exams? My DD will start preparing for 11+ exams soon. Although we have a couple of years I do wonder if it might be easier moving to Sutton borough if it improves her chances. For context, DD's current school is close to the Croydon/Sutton border so her current commute is unlikely to be disrupted. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Sutton state schools don't do anything specific to prep for 11+. If your address puts you in the priority catchment for Wallington Girls, there is no advantage in moving to Sutton.

Nonsuch has some spaces for their specific “catchment” I think.

Look at the Admissions Policy and their criteria for each school.

Schools are allowed to apply distance criteria within their admissions policy but they cannot prioritise students on the basis of borough.

Apart from the Nonsuch ‘distance’ places I think they are all ‘super selective’? So take the top scorers in the exam no matter where they live?

Do you also have good comprehensive / high schools where you live in case of not gaining a grammar place ?

Wallington Girls has some places set aside for those who live within 6.7km of the school. If you are within this area, you have an easier chance of getting in. I doubt you would be in the Nonsuch catchment from South Croydon, but could still apply for out of catchment places. The other schools are boys schools.
