Question About Sutton Grammar School Admissions and Sibling Priority

Hi,

I am aware of the selection criteria for Sutton Grammar School, but I could not find any mention of sibling priority in the admissions criteria.

I was wondering whether any parents here have had two sons admitted to Sutton Grammar School. Was this purely based on the admissions criteria, or did the note you added in the CAF form help?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As you say, there is no sibling criteria in their admission policy. All admissions have to legally be allocated according to the admissions policy, so siblings cannot be taken to account.

Nothing you write in the box at the bottom can be used to influence admissions legally if It does not relate to one of the specific admission criteria; It is a source of constant frustration to Appeals panels that this box exists. It is essentially pointless and leads to applicants believing that there are some reasons they can write that will influence admissions outside of the strict application of the criteria; There are not.

As PatriciaHolm said, there is no sibling priority for Sutton Grammar. Admission is gained purely per the admissions policy on their website.
