Secondary appeals - timescale

Hi!

Does anyone know when most appeals take place? Everything says May-July which feels a huge difference in time. Also, I worry the July dates would miss transition days for the children as they take place early July.

My sons was just before the May half term holiday. We got confirmation in the holiday and everything was sorted by transition days.

For normal admissions round (that is, admission this coming September for the school's normal point of entry), appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline set for the submission of an on-time appeal, which itself must be not less than 20 school days from national offer day. Admission authorities have to publish their appeals timetable by 28th February each year.

The deadline for submitting on time appeals is Monday 13th April 2026. Please use the link below for the appeal form.
Any additional supporting documentation must be submitted by Friday 8th May 2026.
The Appeal Panel is independent of the Academy Trust and will be made up of three members and an Independent Appeal Panel Clerk.
Notification of the date and time for the hearing will be sent to you, by email, ten school days before the hearing by the Independent Appeal Panel Clerk. Please note that appeals are heard via Zoom.
Appeals are scheduled to take place during week commencing 1st June 2026.
Once all appeals have been heard, decision letters will be sent within five school days wherever possible.
