Hi Lovely Moms,
We are planning to move to Gloustershire area for our daughters secondary school in Sept 2026. We are new to UK and new to the GL area too. She will be going to Stroud High School. What are the good residential area within 5 mile radius of this school. We also have a little one who will be going to reception in Sept 2026. Also trying to understand what are new build home options around stroud suitable for family of 4.

There are no areas of Stroud I would particularly avoid. But prices and demand are high as so many people are moving here. There is a big new build estate called Great Oldbury between Stonehouse and Gloucester, about 5 miles away, but it’s pretty soulless.

Thank you. Is there any other location you would suggest ?

What are you looking for? Town or village, or rural? Budget will play a big part.

Our primary focus is school for young kids. Older one will be going to Stroud High School and younger one will be going to Year 1. And we have to travel to London once a week for work.
