Hello, my child has been offered a place at both schools and we are struggling to decide between them. I’d love feedback from those that have experience of the schools please. Thanks!

I will bump this for you, but I don't have any current knowledge. Blue Coat certainly used to have a reputation of not being the absolute highest academically, but very strong pastoral and well-rounded education. But, that's from quite a few years ago and schools obviously can change!

Reading Blue Coat performs slightly better for GCSE, Abingdon slightly better at A Level but both schools strong academically. Blue Coat is the best academic performing independent school in the reading/berks area and on a real upward trajectory. We considered it for our son and were very impressed overall - great head, lovely inclusive vibe, impressive facilities with investment in the arts (sport has always been top notch). Went with grammar state in the end for obvious reasons!
