Does anyone know when the North London state school offers for 6th forms are likely to come out?

we have applied to Woodhouse, Fortismere, APS and Camden.

Would be lovely to have some idea of if we are going to have any offers prior to getting deep into revision and exam territory. None of them seem to have designated offer days

Its standard to be there in person to enrol, there is no attitude in this at all.

My DH cannot get his head around this, I’m sure he thinks it’s me being overly anxious but my understanding is that schools / colleges expect kids to enrol in person.
But, i actually got results day wrong and thought it it was the following week, so it’s complete luck that we are back from out holiday in time 😂

It’s completely ridiculous in this day and age.

Totally agree! When you think of all the things you HAVE to do online and can't do in person anymore ... it's so crazy to ask parents and students to turn up on a day in peak holiday season. It could so easily be done online.

Reading this from the far flung rural/coastal corners of the UK - it is just so different to the choices available here.

Nearly everyone in a massive area goes to the post 16 college in the city - travelling for an hour or more is not unusual. The college is not selective at all.

If you want to attend a school based 6th form there are a couple of options but none particularly high flying or selective.

Or you go private.

There's no real choice at all!

Yes, friends who live elsewhere in the country seem to have quite a different experience- mostly just choosing between staying on at school sixth form or going to the one local college! Even when I was growing up in London those were basically my choices, and I stayed on at my school. But in our borough most schools don’t have sixth forms so it’s a big topic round here, and it’s great to have so many choices.

DS has his heart set on LAET - now just to get the grades and rush there on the day!

FakeTwix · 16/04/2026 14:54

It is great to have choices- we have none really!

But it makes me anxious for uni applications as it seems a very uneven playing field!

thank you so much, @NewHouseNewMe. For some reason I can't reply via DMs but wanted you to know I appreciate your message.

Has anyone heard from Fortismere? We still haven’t heard anything. I’ve emailed them extremely politely asking them when we should expect to hear and left a message on their answer machine and nobody has got back to me. It’s extremely frustrating to have radio silence - if it’s a no, or if it’s a waiting list please it would be polite that’s fine but to not even acknowledge something is extremely frustrating

Good news! What is your DC studying? Still not received on offer for DS yet. My eldest is in the sixth form there so may ask one of his teachers what's going on!
