How much revision would expect your child to be doing this half term?DD thinks she doesn’t really need to do much at this stage but I’m trying to persuade her otherwise.

DD has been gradually building up since Jan. think she’s at about 2-3 hours most days, but has had odd days of not much with it being half term. She has mocks next week for a fortnight…

My kids have just finished their mocks, I told them I wanted them to have a really good break and then come back prepared to work their socks off!

  • Students, I'm not their parent 🤣

DD had her mocks last term. She is doing targeted revision - probably 2 hours a day during half term.

Even if they have just worked really hard for mocks and this is their last realistic chance of a break?

No- I would allow one or two days off but they will get a proper break in the summer knowing they’ve worked as hard as possible.

DD had her mocks back in Nov, and no more mocks coming up. She had time off during the Christmas break to relax, but this half term she is doing a few hours a day. Her choice. Makes no difference what I say or do as she does as she pleases. And I'm trusting her to get on with it as she seems to be doing well so far with no sign of being over worked and she seems to be getting some satisfaction and sense of achievement from doing the work. She's had a day out with friends, and is going to a party at the weekend, so hopefully she's got the balance right.
