KGS reserve list 2026

Does anyone have any more information on the KGS reserve list please? To what extent do they over offer? How likely is it to receive an offer from the waiting list based on people’s experiences. I understand that this will vary from year to year and where your child might be on the list.

We had a general interview-does that make any difference to your chances? I know they look at exam results, interview and school reference, but not sure of what weight the interview has? Our interview didn’t go very well, but unsure if that’s the only reason we didn’t receive an offer.

Also can anyone tell me when the offer holder date is please?

Probably over thinking it all, but the waiting is so stressful!

I can only speak from personal experience. My DS, now in Y9 was waitlisted. I would imagine he is not great at interview (general). He got an offer on the day the state places were sent.
the offer holder event is Thursday 26th in the morning.

We are in the same boat. DC had general interview but got very anxious ending up in reserve list. I gave them a call to ask about waiting list ranking and they said they don't rank WL children, but make decisions based on every candidate circumstances.
Please post if you get happy news it would be useful to know WL is moving. We have a back up offer with deadline only 2 day different from KGS making the wait so stressful

Just to clarify the offer holding morning (that we’ve been invited to, perhaps there are multiple?) is on Wednesday 25.

@MunchkinJ they have 3 days reserved for offer holders event - Wednesday 25th/Thursday 26th/Friday 27th. Nice way to avoid overcrowding and provide more personalized experience for kids

We also have a back up, but with the same acceptance deadline. Will definitely update if we get any news.

Is anyone aware of any movement on the KGS waitlist?

Not yet, unfortunately. Monday is national offer day, so I assume of there is any movement, it will happen from Tuesday
