Long Ashton Secondary schools

Hi, we're moving to the Bristol area in the summer and are looking at Long Ashton among other places. We cant seem to find a straightforward answer about which secondary school serves the village. Can anyone explain how it works? Thanks!

Most Long Ashton secondary school students go to Nailsea or Backwell secondary schools and get the bus there and back. I think the catchment school for Long Ashton is St Katherine’s though apparently it’s awkward to get to via bus.

The official North Somerset geographical area has Long Ashton in the area for St Katherines as the pp said. However, most try and get into Backwell, Nailsea or Ashton Park as they are easier to get to (are arguably better schools)

We've got our eye on Backwell school. Do you have any idea how easy/hard it is to get LA kids into Backwell? Does it depend which part of the village you live in?

After the initial criteria of LAC, siblings etc it is done on distance in a straight line. Last year they let in 53 under this criteria and the furthest was just under 5 miles.

Traditionally there are kids from Long Ashton there. But I seem to recall you had to sort your own transport out as there was no official school bus from Long Ashton.

Isn’t Ashton park school still around? That’s the closest
