pre booked hoilday

im a temp learning support staff in a school i signed a contract that ternates in july, got a hoilday pre-booked now for 1st week in september what should i do if they ask me ti stay on in july , i hope as i was leaving the school, and am signing a new contract that my pre-booked hoilday would be honered, it was booked this jan

If you were one of my supply LSAs, it would depend entirely on how good you are. If you are an asset to the team, I may accept it.

I would have asked, before booking, whether the contract might be renewed next year. The answer might well be "can't say at this point", but you might get a sense of whether it's "yes if we have the funding" or "yes if we can't find anyone else".

If they can't commit to you at this point, then it's not unreasonable for you to have booked a holiday, but if they're expecting/hoping to re-employ you, then they might be a little annoyed if you've booked a holiday you know will clash - and it might give other candidates the edge. (This might be a particular worry if you have other colleagues on temporary contracts.)

Are you planning to continue working as an LSA in the future, at another school if not this one? If so, it's possibly a little foolish to book a termtime holiday, as most schools will want someone who can start in September, especially as things like safeguarding training are likely to be covered then.
